Yes, boys and girls, I just got back from a MONSTER TRUCK SHOW! (Who'dve thunk it?!) Christopher — my 5-year-old son — thinks Monster Trucks are downright cool, and there was a show tonight at the fairground. So Christopher, Emily (who's 7) and I went out to see what these things are all about. I can tell you this: They're LOUD. Really loud. And honestly, after watching them bounce over a row of cars once or twice, they sort of lost their appeal for me. But Christopher and Emily can't stop going on about how cool everything was, so it was definitely worth it. Emily says her favorite thing was the dirt bikes — there were two that did some amazing acrobatics — and Christopher thought the four wheelers (racing) were neat. Just in case anyone's curious, I can tell you that “Clydesdale” won the side-by-side race in the final heat against “Monster Patrol”. <big grin> Oh, I suppose I can argue that I “did it for the Lord”; I believe that tonight's show was part fund-raiser for a local church (chuckle)…talk about working the mission field <grin>.
