Chicago Trib Reports on the MOBs
Maureen Ryan at the Chicago Tribune did a story about the MOBs and interviewed me and several other participants. The quote attributed to me is not completely indicative of everything I said (it makes me sound a lot more serious about the whole thing that I really am), but was accurate. You can read the story online on the Trib's website, but you've got to register (and it'll move to the paid archives on July 18, 2003).
Here's my quote:
And though the events are just meant to be prankish fun, there is a serious side to the flash mobs, at least for some participants. “Honestly, it seems like a way to tweak the nose of those responsible for security, since things have gotten so tense since Sept. 11,” flash mobber Eric Longman said via e-mail. “Remember, the 1st Amendment specifically protects the `right of the people peaceably to assemble.'”
